VELO flavours: the full range explained

VELO flavours fall into two big groups: mint and fruit. The range has grown a lot since the brand launched, the names differ from country to country, and some of the flavours people search for are sold under a different name today. This guide sorts the VELO flavours in our range by taste, explains which strengths each flavour comes in and shows how to pick a flavour and a strength that suit you.

All flavour and strength details below are based on the VELO cans in our shop in October 2026. Brands update their range often, so always check the can before you buy.

The VELO flavours at a glance

At the time of writing, these are the VELO flavours you can order from us:

The pattern is clear. A handful of mint flavours carry the brand, and a growing number of fruit flavours sit next to them. Many of the fruit flavours have "Ice", "Icy" or "Flame" in the name. "Ice" means a cooling menthol note runs under the fruit, so even the fruit cans feel fresh in the mouth. "Flame" means the opposite: a light warming note on top of the fruit.

VELO mint flavours: peppermint and spearmint

Mint is still the biggest category for nicotine pouches in Europe, and VELO is no exception. The mint flavours cover the two classic directions.

Crispy Peppermint and Freezing Peppermint

Peppermint is the sharper, colder of the two mints. Crispy Peppermint is the VELO flavour for people who want a clean, strong cooling effect without a sweet aftertaste. It comes with 10 mg per pouch in the standard format and as a milder Mini. Freezing Peppermint is colder still and is the VELO flavour people search for most. It is a common choice for people who switch from menthol cigarettes. Peppermint Storm is the stronger peppermint with about 11 mg per pouch.

Bright Spearmint, Green Spearmint and Simply Spearmint

Spearmint is softer and sweeter than peppermint. Bright Spearmint is the gentler of the two main VELO mints, with 8 mg per pouch in the standard format and 4 mg in the Mini. Many first-time users start here. Green Spearmint and Simply Spearmint are variations on the same theme: Simply Spearmint is the lightest mint in the range with 4 mg per pouch. If peppermint feels too intense for you, spearmint is the logical next try.

VELO fruit flavours: berry, citrus and tropical

Fruit is where the VELO range has grown the most. Most of the fruit flavours combine a fruit taste with a cooling finish.

• Ruby Berry is the long-running berry flavour, a mix of dark berries with a mild cooling note.
• Blue Raspberry and Blueberry Ice are the sweeter berry options; Blueberry Ice has the colder finish.
• Icy Cherry is a dark cherry with menthol. Dark Cherry Mini is the same direction in the smallest format and the lowest strength.
• Lime Flame is lime with a light warming note. Tangy Lime and Sour Lime are the cooler, more sour versions, and Orange Spark is the orange option.
• Tropical Mango is the mildest tropical flavour. Mango Ice adds menthol, and Mango Flame adds a warming note. Guava Passionfruit, Spicy Papaya, Wintery Watermelon and Zesty Elderflower complete the tropical side.
• Purple Grape is a sweet grape flavour and one of the few fruit cans that comes in several strengths.

The "Ice" flavours suit people who like fruit but do not want a very sweet pouch, because the menthol balances the sweetness. If you prefer fruit without any cooling note, Ruby Berry, Purple Grape and Tropical Mango are the ones to try first. For fruit flavours from other brands, the fruit snus collection and the berry snus collection list every can by taste.

Salty Liquorice and the VELO Zero line

Salty Liquorice is the one VELO flavour that is neither mint nor fruit. It is a Nordic classic: salty, slightly bitter liquorice with about 10 mg per pouch. If you like it, the liquorice snus collection has more of the same from other brands.

VELO Zero is the brand's line without nicotine. Bright Peppermint Zero, Purple Grape Zero and Tropical Mango Zero use the same slim pouch and the same flavours with 0 mg. They are listed with other 0 mg products in the snus without nicotine collection.

Freezing Peppermint, Ice Cool and the old VELO names

Many people search for VELO flavours by names they know from a few years ago or from another country. Freezing Peppermint is the most searched VELO flavour by a long way. In the United Kingdom it has disappeared from the official product page, which is why you find many questions about whether it was discontinued. In the European range it is still available, in the standard strength, as Freezing Peppermint Ultra and as Freezing Peppermint Max.

Other old names work like this:

• Ice Cool: a strong menthol mint from the Lyft era. The closest current VELO flavours are Freezing Peppermint and Crispy Peppermint.
• Lime Flame: still in the range in the EU. In some countries the citrus flavour is sold as Tangy Lime instead.
• Lyft flavours in general: Lyft was the old name of the brand. Most Lyft flavours exist as VELO today under the same or a very similar name.

VELO flavours and strengths: what to check on the can

Not every VELO flavour comes in every strength. VELO marks the strength with dots on the lid and prints the nicotine content per pouch on the can. In our range the strengths look like this:

• Light, about 4 mg per pouch: Bright Spearmint Mini, Simply Spearmint, Dark Cherry Mini
• Medium, about 6 to 8 mg per pouch: Bright Spearmint, Lime Flame, Tangy Lime Mini, Purple Grape Mini, Tropical Mango, Guava Passionfruit, Spicy Papaya
• Strong, about 10 to 11 mg per pouch: Crispy Peppermint, Freezing Peppermint, Peppermint Storm, Purple Grape, Orange Spark, Ruby Berry, Icy Cherry, Mango Flame, Salty Liquorice
• Extra strong, 14 mg per pouch and more: Freezing Peppermint Ultra, Tropical Mango High Nic and Freezing Peppermint Max with 17 mg per pouch

So if you have a favourite flavour, check which strengths it comes in before you choose. Mint flavours cover the whole scale, most fruit flavours stop at the medium or strong level.

Milligrams per pouch are the most useful number to compare between brands and flavours. Milligrams per gram look higher but depend on the pouch weight: a slim VELO pouch weighs about 0.7 grams, so 14 mg per gram equals about 10 mg per pouch. How to choose between VELO flavours

The easiest way to choose is to start from what you already like:

• You want a clean, strong cooling effect: start with Crispy Peppermint or Freezing Peppermint.
• You find peppermint too sharp: try Bright Spearmint.
• You like fruit but not too sweet: choose an "Ice" flavour such as Mango Ice or Icy Cherry.
• You want fruit with a higher strength: Purple Grape, Ruby Berry and Orange Spark go up to the strong level.
• You want the format without the nicotine: pick one of the VELO Zero flavours.

Flavour also changes during use. Most pouches taste strongest in the first few minutes, and the flavour fades as the pouch releases its nicotine.
